Clark County District Court Judge Elizabeth Gonzales issued an injunction August 23, 2019, creating an issue in licensing for newer Cannabis shops, many of which were issued in 2018. This injunction stops Nevada state from performing final inspections for any licensees who didn’t provide clear identification as to who is an officer of the company.

The losing bidders argued that the Department of Taxation’s process in scoring applicants was biased and filled with many mistakes. The ruling prevents Nevada from giving a final inspection to those who are affected by the injunction. New Cannabis shops can receive zoning permits as well as build their stores. The state will not be allowed to give clearance to the shops to operate business as long as the injection stands.

All sides expect the Judge Gonzales’s ruling will be appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court.
